This cinematic demo, created in Unreal Engine 5, showcases a mysterious character dancing within a forbidden Chinese Garden.
My contributions to this project include developing key materials such as the plaster walls and the wooden textures of the flying lanterns, utilizing Substance Designer, Substance Painter, and UE5's Material Editor.
I also designed the lighting setup—both environmental and character-focused—including atmospheric fog, flickering flying lanterns, and a three-point lighting system (key, fill, and back light) that casts dynamic shadows to enhance the cinematic mood.
Additionally, I engineered a custom terrain tool for generating underwater rocks and stones, allowing for flexible and art-directable terrain detailing.
